GEOINT-ISAC – STATUTORY AUTHORITY

The GEOINT-ISAC and The International Association of Certified ISAOs (IACI) are officially authorized and recognized Information Sharing Organizations by:

The 2015 Presidential Executive Order 13691 – ‘Promoting Private Security Cybersecurity Information Sharing’

Authorizes Information Sharing Analysis Organizations (ISAOs/ISACs), building upon the 1998 Presidential Decision Directive (PPD-63) authorizing Informaton Sharing Analysis Centers to form supporting critical infrastructure sectors.

“Information Sharing Analysis Organizations may be organized on the basis of sector sub-sector, region, or any other affinity, including response to particular emerging threats or vulnerabilities. Information Sharing Analysis Organization members may be drawn from public or private sectors or consist of a combination of public and private sector organizations.”

The US Dept. Of Homeland Security (DHS) – Cybersecurity Information Sharing Collaboration Agreement

This Agreement enables engaging with DHS in analytical collaboration activities, including planning and technical exchanges, associated with cybersecurity risks. Information sharing includes receiving, analyzing, and disseminating) consistent with guiding principles and information sharing protections.

The 2015 Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA)

Encourages public- and private-sector critical infrastructure owners and operators to share cyber threat information with an ISAC or ISAO and includes information sharing protections – No Anti-Trust Violations, Liability, Privacy, and Civil Liberties protections, etc.

The CISA Act formally recognizes and aithorizes Information Sharing Analysis Organizations (ISAO/ISACs) including legal information sharing protections to ISAOs/ISACs and their Members.

Join GEOINT-ISAC

Joining a Geospatial Intelligence Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) offers organizations a strategic advantage by providing a collaborative ecosystem to combat sector-specific physical and cyber threats. In an era where critical infrastructure—from satellite constellations to maritime logistics—is increasingly targeted, a Geospatial ISAC serves as a vital hub for real-time threat intelligence, allowing members to share indicators of compromise and “ground truth” observations that might otherwise remain siloed.

By participating, your organization gains access to a specialized repository of actionable data, including satellite imagery analysis, GPS interference reports, and vulnerability assessments tailored to geospatial technologies like GIS and remote sensing. This collective defense model not only accelerates incident response and risk mitigation but also fosters professional growth through technical exchanges, benchmarking, and cross-sector coordination with government agencies like the NGA.

Ultimately, membership transforms a single entity’s situational awareness into a shared, robust security posture that protects both proprietary assets and the integrity of global location-based services.
